Fordham Hall Estate

Fordham Hall estate is a 505 acre farm donated to the Woodland Trust in 2001. It is the largest gift of land we have received. The site surrounds the village of Fordham and includes a mile of river bank and the site of a roman villa.

Fordham will be the largest new native woodland in the east of England. Over the next few years we will be transforming the landscape from fields of wheat and potatoes to a mixture of wetland, meadow and new woodland.

Planting at Fordham began in autumn 2003. More than 700 children were involved in schools planting events on the site and around 300 attended the first community planting day.
