Dedridge
Our site at Dedridge launched Tree For All Weekend 2004. On 18th November 2004, the Woodland Trust Scotland challenged pupils from James Young High School to plant 700 trees on 0.3 ha of land at Dedridge. In the afternoon pupils were joined by players from Livingston FC who have already pledged their support to the campaign. Alongside the tree planting, the Woodland Trust Scotland hosted the West Lothian Welly Wanging Championship 2004.
North Woods
North Woods will be the focus of our educational programme in West Lothian. Education and tree planting on this site commenced in 2005 with the intention of offering the programme for a further three years. In addition we hope to set up a woodland learning programme in Livingston, based on providing opportunities for kids to be involved for many years to come. This would include pre and post event learning in class, establishment of woodland champions within schools, development of specific education materials for Livingston primary schools.
