Ushaw Moor

Ushaw Moor is part of the Mineral Valleys Project, which aims to restore land in an area of the country heavily affected by coal mining and mineral extraction. Ushaw Moor is close to the city of Durham.

The site is 10 hectares (25 acres) of land, which will be transformed through the planting around 15000 trees. We are working with Durham County Council to involve people in the Mineral Valleys project and this autumn we will run a week-long schools programme for hundreds of local children and a community planting event.
