Tree For All will help to deliver the Government’s aim of increasing the UK's woodland cover and other connected policies and objectives.
The UK Forest Partnership for Action, launched at Johannesburg by DEFRA Environment Minister Michael Meacher, is committed to the ‘restoration, protection and expansion of native woods in the UK.’
The aim of the Government’s England Biodiversity Strategy is ‘enhance, extend and restore the existing native woodland resource’. ‘Area of Woodland’ is one of the criteria set down by the Government to assess people's 'quality of life' and levels of sustainable development.
Tree For All will also help to deliver another Government UK sustainable development/quality of life indicator: ‘access to green space’. The Government has already stated its commitment to ‘the creation of networks of accessible, high quality parks and diverse green spaces in all our towns and cities.’
