Seed gathering

BBC's Autumnwatch (2nd-13th October 2006) focussed on trees, particularly on seed gathering.

They invited all woodland groups to organise seed gathering or woodland events around the weekend of the 7th and 8th October 2006. The aim was to try and get something happening in every area of the country.

So, the Tree For All campaign will be focussed on seed gathering events that October, and in particular the weekend of the 7th and 8th. Groups that registered events with us received our special Tree For All events pack. The pack contained:

• Useful tips on organising and running seed gathering events
• Useful tips on handling the press and media
• Blank event posters
• BBC Seed collection bags
• Activity sheets for children and families
• Tree For All pencils to use with the sheets

These events will also formed part of The Tree Council's long standing Seed Gathering campaign, aimed to encourage everyone to enjoy the magic of trees and woods.

If you would like to attend a seed gathering/woodland event, then check out the registered events here.
