Breathing Places Nov 06

Welcome to all BBC seed-gatherers!

What to do with your seeds now:

Watch out for waterlogged seeds – now is the time you should check your seeds for waterlogging. Seeds with too much water will not grow as well. If you find your seeds have too much water, empty some of it out carefully. Growing trees from seeds will give you more advice.

Free fact sheets:

Identify your twig – still looking for seeds but having problems identifying your tree now the leaves have all fallen off? This handy fact sheet should help.

Our project of the month:

Tree For All – this project aims to involve one million children in planting 12 million trees. We’re already planted over three million trees and between now and next March, we have another series of tree planting events planned. Why not get inspired, go out and plant some trees for National Tree Week, which runs from 22 Nov-3 Dec.

What to look out for this month:

Fungi – the end of November/early December is the perfect time to get out in the woods and look for fungi. Nature notes tells you what fungi to look out for during your fungi foray.
