WORKING NOT WALKING
Ramblers Group do voluntary work for Woodland Trust Scotland
A fine, spring day, excellent conditions for a walk in the Ochil Hills, but not for the Stirling and Falkirk Ramblers. This benevolent group, gave up their Sunday to help the Woodland Trust Scotland, part of the UK’s leading woodland conservation organisation, clear paths and construct a stile at the Trust’s Geordie’s Wood site.
After all their hard work, two independent walkers helped test out the new path they created and a small opening ceremony was held with Woodland Trust staff and the ramblers
Philip Gordon Site Manager said ” The Stirling and Falkirk Ramblers have been very generous with their time and have volunteered for several jobs in the past. Helping out gives them the opportunity to give something back to the countryside, which they enjoy so much”
