Over the course of this project we will improve the structure of the existing broadleaved woodland, enhance biodiversity and increase the area of native woodland in West Lothian. This will include:
- thinning 49 hectares of densely planted woodland
- felling and replanting 3 hectares of coniferous woodland
- planting 6,750 new native trees to create new 3 hectare native woodland
Ongoing management of 230 hectares of woodland will continue according to the latest Management Plans which have been revised as part of this project.
