A fantastic array of stars are supporting Scouts for Trees:
Sir Ranulph Fiennes
The environment is one of the top issues concerning young people today so planting 100 woods across the UK involving thousands of Scouts is great news. Planting trees is not only good fun it teaches children the importance of giving something back, a philosophy which the Scout Association has demonstrated so successfully for 100 years. The natural world is a finite resource and we need to help replenish what we take out. Woodland and forests all over the world give sanctuary to wildlife and provide places of great tranquillity for people. It’s also more important than ever to highlight the growing threat to nature from climate change and the impact it will have on future generations. Through the simple act of planting a tree children can broaden their understanding of the natural world and the part they can play in sustaining it.

The Woodland Trust’s project to plant 100 new woods to mark the Scout’s centenary year is good news for the environment and a great way to get children outdoors. It’s more important than ever to encourage the next generation to care about their environment with increasing concerns about climate change and the need to protect threatened wildlife and habitats. I fully support this project and believe the Woodland Trust is making great strides in their campaign to inspire in children a love of the natural world.

The Woodland Trust’s project to engage thousands of Scouts in tree planting is a fantastic idea. It will get children outdoors and help to foster an interest in the environment. I’m sure Scouts everywhere will be keen to get digging and the legacy of 100 woods will be there for future generations to enjoy. It’s also great news for wildlife and will help to make the UK a greener place to live.

Our woodlands are beautiful, magical places and every child in the UK deserves to enjoy them and contribute to their future. Scouts for Trees offers just this opportunity and I am delighted to lend my support to this partnership between the Woodland Trust and the Scouts.

Scouts for Trees is a brilliant way to get children excited about the environment. As well as getting active in the great outdoors, they will also be learning the importance of protecting our natural woodland habitats and wildlife for the future. I’m proud to support this initiative, and I encourage all Scouts to “do their best” to plant trees with the Woodland Trust!

Tree for All is a wonderful sentiment, having greenery around us makes us all happier, whether young or old, but it’s brilliant children are getting so involved in this campaign.
Richard McCourt
When I was a Scout I had loads of fun enjoying the great outdoors - running around the woods, climbing trees and playing in the mud, so I think it’s brilliant the Woodland Trust are planting 100 woods with the Scouts to celebrate the Scout Association’s centenary, ensuring future generations can have as much fun as I did.
Ortis Deley
Scouts for Trees is an excellent partnership between the Woodland Trust and the Scouts. It helps children learn about our environment in a hands-on, practical way and lets them play an important part in protecting it for the future.

As a child I used to spend hours playing outside and climbing trees. It was brilliant fun and I think all children should be able to enjoy it, which is why I support this terrific initiative by the Woodland Trust and the Scouts. As well as encouraging children to enjoy our natural landscape it also allows them to take an active role in protecting it for future generations of adventurous children.
