Could any of the campsites in your area become one of the Centenary Groves? We would love as many campsites as possible to host these groves as a lasting tribute to Scouting.
All you will need is an area of open ground of around approximately 5 acres in size to plant about 2000 sapling trees. This could be made up of a number of areas of open ground around the site – to plant a number of copses or indeed lengths of hedgerow.
How will this work?
• We will visit your site and ensure suitability
• We will help with a planting plan and planting guidance
• We will provide suitable tree packs for woodland creation and ask you to invite Scouts from your local area to help with planting
• We will be posting a list of all planting locations in the UK on this website later this year, so as many people as possible can take part
If your campsite is not suitable to host one of the Centenary Woods, you may know of somewhere else local to you that might be. For these sites, we would be interested to hear from anyone that is already planning on planting some woodland that we could get involved with along with the Scouts.
