Things to do

The Woodland Trust has lots of downloadable resources about trees and the environment, that you can use with your scouts. Just click on the links in red below to have a browse around all the free downloadable resources.

  • Discovery: Resource packs for youth groups

    These packs were developed to encourage children to take an active interest in the outdoors and their environment. Many of the activities can be used or developed to achieve awards and badge work for uniformed groups:

    Scouts - Naturalist, Global conservation, Forester
    Cubs - Naturalist, Global conservation
    Scout Group Award Badges -The Environment Award

  • Nature Detectives:
    Play lots of games and puzzles

    Explore ID sheets, nature diary, worksheets and books

    Identify how and where to find things like frogspawn, tree ID

    Investigate the changing seasons
