Yellow Woods Challenge
Yell supports Tree For All through the Yellow Woods Challenge – an environmental campaign for schools run by Yellow Pages, the Woodland Trust and local authorities across the UK.
While schoolchildren recycle old Yellow Pages directories, they learn about the importance of the environment and woodland conservation through educational activities created especially for the Challenge.
Schools that recycle the most old Yellow Pages directories per pupil are awarded cash prizes and for every pound Yellow Pages gives to schools, they give a matching pound to Tree For All, to be used to plant thousands of trees.
This year’s Challenge hopes to raise around £85,000 for Tree For All, to support:
• Tree planting by the Woodland Trust and
• ‘Seeds to trees’ kits for schools to grow native trees from seed in their classroom
