The UK's native trees and plants are critical to the survival of our native insects, birds and other animals. To help children and young people understand this and get more involved with nature the Trust is offering FREE Hedge and Copse packs to schools and youth groups throughout the UK.
The School's pack contributes towards Key Stage 2 in science, numeracy, literacy and art and design and includes:
- Instructions on how to plant trees
- Teachers educational notes
- Pupil worksheets
- Fascinating facts about the trees in the pack
- A template press release to attract media to your event!
By planting and looking after these trees and hedges children are not only learning the environment but also contributing to a greener future for us all.
The number of schools and youth groups we can involve is limited by the amount of funding we have. If you would like to enable more people to take part, £20,000 will enable 500 packs to be distributed. Your sponsorship will be acknowledged on all communication and PR.
