Fungi fun

Mushrooms will be springing up in schools all over Sheffield thanks to the skilled efforts of sculptor Alistair Farr.

Fourteen schools in the area will be working with South Yorkshire Forest to plant more than 400 trees over two weeks from the 6 March.

During the sessions, pupils from every school will see Alistair use a chainsaw to craft a mushroom out of local timber. They'll then be allowed to keep the sculpture as a memento to display in their school.

They'll learn all about trees by playing active games and will plant a tree in their school's grounds as they do their bit for the Tree For All project.

This is just one example of the many brilliant Tree For All events happening all over the country this spring. Click here to find out what's happening in your area.
