Wales needs more native trees! Help us launch our campaign at the Royal Welsh Show!
Coed Cadw (the Woodland Trust ) in Wales is launching a campaign to for the creation of 1,500 hectares of new woodland in Wales over the next three years, as the first step towards a doubling of native woodland cover by 2050.
Wales is one of the least wooded countries in Europe and we want to see more native woodland created to benefit people and wildlife, to help avoid flooding, to absorb CO2 from the atmosphere and also provide a sustainable supply of timber for the future.
As well as planting trees ourselves and encouraging others to do so, we will be launching petition to the National Assembly, making use of the new provisions for this under the Government of Wales Act. We are launching the petition at a reception at our stand at the Royal Welsh Show, and as a supporter of the Trust we would be delighted if you would join us.
Tuesday 21st July, 2.00 pm onwards

Entrance to the Royal Welsh Show Ground
The Show takes place just outside Builth Wells. Car parking is provided free of charge but traffic can be very heavy on show days and queuing for car parks can take several hours at peak times. There is a train service between Shrewsbury and Llanelli, stopping at Builth Road Station. Free buses run from there to the showground.
There is an entrance fee to the Showground of £16 per person. I am afraid that the Trust cannot provide tickets, or reimburse this cost.
Yours faithfully
