Llandeilo kids (and adults) rise to the Tree For All Challenge

Local people, and their elected representatives, do their bit to improve the local environment, at a public planting event on Sunday 21 November, and schools planting events the following Monday and Tuesday

Following a successful community campaign to extend Coed Tregib 1, a wood on the fringe of Llandeilo in the care of Coed Cadw (the Woodland Trust), local people are being invited to come along and help plant the site with native trees at a public planting event on Sunday 23 November, between 11am and 4pm. There will be special planting events for local schools on the Monday and Tuesday.

Sian Lloyd and Lembit Opik give it some welly at Granllyn Pool

The big, public planting event at Granllyn Pool is postponed, but work starts to create new native woodland for the local community in the heart of Guilsfield

Following a enthusiastic community campaign to extend Granllyn Pool, a small community wood at Guilsfield near Welshpool, in the care of Coed Cadw (the Woodland Trust), work is now starting to plant the 2 ha (5.1 acre) extension to the site with native trees. TV personality and meteorologist Siân Lloyd, and her fiancé and Montgomeryshire MP, Lembit Opik, will be getting muddy starting the work at 11am on Saturday 20 November.

Celebrations in Llandeilo as Tree For All planting challenge gets off to a great start


Local community campaign allows Coed Cadw (the Woodland Trust) to plant 12,500 trees on the fringe of Llandeilo

Tree For All, the ambitious new tree planting challenge by Coed Cadw (the Woodland Trust) got off to brilliant start in Wales last week when the charity succeeded in acquiring a 12 hectare (32 acre) extension to the existing ancient woodland Coed Tregib, near Llandeilo.

Coed Cadw (the Woodland Trust), the UK's leading woodland conservation charity, is launching the country’s biggest ever children’s tree planting campaign today. The campaign, Tree For All, will inspire a new generation of environmental warriors by encouraging youngsters to reconnect with the natural world. Tree For All is giving at least one million children the chance to get to grips with nature and have fun planting trees.
