"We had 101 families planting the trees. Brilliant day and wonderful atmosphere. We planted 850 in total and heeled the others in. Will plant the remaining trees this week. Thank you for all your help and support. The press came so we should get some coverage. - Dawn"
"Hello - Here are some pictures of 1st Ness Brownies planting some seeds which they had collected on a nature walk. They have taken them home and will look after them over the winter and see what they grow into by spring! We loved using the identification charts from your website - they are great pictures and easy to use. By spring, we will find somewhere to plant the seedlings. - Thanks for a great resource."
"we would like to say thank you for all the information you sent out to us with idea`s to do. we got started last week and i am so pleased with what the girls did i thought i would send you a picture. the girls wanted to do a star and in the middle is one made from green leaves they found on the ground too."
"I am very pleased to report we have had a phenomenal weekend of planting.Despite the weather, large numbers turned-up, from tiny, tiny children to a man aged 81 years. We would have planted every single sapling but we ran out of stakes.Virginia Reekie, the daughter of the Late Christopher Cadbury was our lovely VIP, and I have just received a delightful letter from her.She now lives in Wiltshire, but joined us for a couple of hours. After her official tree-planting ceremony she insisted in planting some of the saplings. Afterwards she sampled some of Sue’s wonderful homemade soup followed by a slice of Sue’s birthday cake. Whilst eating with us, a few of the retired Guiders who remembered Virginia as a little girl, chatted happily with her.Jill Harvey, a local Councillor gave up her entire weekend to help us.I also managed to get Julie Kirkbride the Bromsgrove MP to pay us a flying visit, and she enjoyed planting her sapling."
"Thank you very much for all the excellent organisation that went into supplying us with the hedging for our Activity Centre. The trees were first class and the delivery was 'spot on'! The girls all enjoyed themselves doing the planting (and learnt a lot in the process). We had excellent publicity from the local press mentioning The Woodland Trust and Veolia Environmental, so we were very pleased. Its been very enjoyable being associated with you and thank you from West Glamorgan Girlguiding. Anne Faull"
"The trees were delivered Thursday 20th. after they arrived we sorted them all ready for planting on Saturday & Sunday, we had Guides, Brownies, Rainbow Guides, Guiders and Volunteers all willing to help, the weather on Saturday was dreadful but between the snow showers we managed to set about 400 trees it was bitterly cold with a biting northerly wind but we battled on. Sunday morning we woke up to 4 inches of snow so planting was called off, we plan to get the rest set this week all according to the weather. The surplus trees we do not need are to be shared between two other Guiding camp sites in the area and we are having a nursery to replace any that do not take,
We thank you and the Trust for donating them to us and will be giving a report to the local press, we all look forward to the future seeing the trees develop. Regards Barbara"
"On a wet and windy Sunday Morning 20 members of Girlguiding Seahaven Division, did their bit in caring for the environment by planting 150 assorted trees at their Campsite in Seaford. The trees were donated by the Woodland Trust funded by Veolia Environmental Trust who advised us on the most suitable species for the area. This is all part of Girlguiding UK's project called "Changing the World"."
