The Trafalgar Project
Bringing history to life...
This year is the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar and the death of Admiral Nelson.
The Trafalgar Woods Project will plant an incredible 250,000 trees in the UK and involve at least 15,000 children at the tree planting events.
By the end of the project, 33 new woods will have been planted to commemorate each of the ships in Nelson’s fleet and to celebrate the important role British timber played in our naval heritage.
Today's children will bring history to life, forging a link with the past by creating new landscapes for future generations to enjoy.
Trafalgar Woods is part of Tree For All - the Woodland Trust's campaign to transform landscapes and engage children with nature. Our aims include the involvement of at least a million children in planting 12 million trees over the next five years.
